Each of God's children has a spiritual gift. Antioch's gift as a church is it's love. We are known for our warm greetings at the front door, hugs in the foyer, holding someone's hand in the sanctuary if they need a friend, and leaving worship services with a joyful spirit. You will often see people fellowshipping well after service has ended. "By this all will know you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:35
Antioch Christian Fellowship was founded by Pastor Christopher J. Respass and First Lady Charmaine Respass in September 2002. For two years before the first service was ever held, the Respass family prayed and fasted--and God poured into them in great detail, showing them the purpose of this new church, what He wanted it to be named, right down to the colors to be used in the sanctuary. To this day, you will find that everything belonging to Antioch exists to glorify God and edify the body of Christ.
Our vision is to fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28: 18-20), making disciples of all people, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to follow what Jesus exemplified in His earthly mission.
So why are we here? What do we hope to accomplish? We have a simple vision with life-changing implications: Expressing Christ's Compassion to a Hurting World. And you don't have to look far to realize all of us are hurting in some form now or will be in the future. We all experience the ups-and-downs of life and Christ's plan for us is to go through them together—following His footsteps and supporting each another.
Keeping this in mind, Antioch has been called to Go. Grow. Sow. Overflow.
Go — reaching the lost and "forgotten" people in the world
Grow — making and multiplying Christian disciples
Sow — training pastors and leaders
Overflow — multiplying churches that multiply
We are convinced that we must share the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone - especially those whom others overlook. We are striving to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as he leads us to reach those who feel neglected, abandoned, ostracized or simply... forgotten. We see it as our charge to Go and present the evidence of God's love to them and to represent our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Anything that is alive should Grow. We believe that we must take steps to grow individually and as disciples of Jesus, which will enable our congregation to mature spiritually. Numerical growth is a natural byproduct of this effort, but we expect God to "grow us" in any and every way He chooses as we we make disciples for Jesus Christ.
We are intentional about utilizing God's resources to reinvest into the Kingdom. We take seriously the charge to prepare for ministry and we count it a privilege to help prepare those who will be leaders in the churches of today and tomorrow. We view the provision of practical ministry training as one unique way we can Sow into the Kingdom of God to the glory of Jesus Christ.
Our congregation fully expects God to utilize our leaders in all aspects of church planting. In fact, we rejoice when God allows our ministry to Overflow and saturate other parts of our nation and world. Thus, we choose to replicate core aspects of our ministry so that others might come to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
